Shoe make me crazy

Get it?! as in {You} make me crazy! pretty dorky, I know but I had to go there because it has a double meaning. Ok on a serious note, I have searched endlessly to find out who makes the shoes on the first photo, I want them terribly. Lucite heel?! hello! nuff said.  If someone knows who makes these heels I will be forever thankful for that valuable piece of information. I know all of us girls no matter what we say we will always love shoes, there is no denying. I wanted to inspire you on this otherwise boring Tuesday with what I like to think of as "shoe envy." Just dream of the day you have shelves upon shelves filled with the prettiest of shoes...pretty sure Cinderella did too. I mostly cry of pain!

{Spring/Summer 2012} Pastels Outfit Inspo

The hot colors for Spring and Summer...Pastels. This is the hottest trend and with endless possibilities you can go along way with a few pieces. Your key item is to buy pastel colored jeans, they will give you the most for your buck! Although I didn't give you too many color variations (hard time finding different colors other than these) you can kind of get an idea of what you can do with pastels, they don't have to be juvenile as you can see from the photo below. Pair your pastels with a bright lipstick it makes it more interesting and adds depth to the look. Whatever you choose try to be subtle, do not go overboard with head-to-toe pastels.

BTW do you recognize the pretty lady on the first photo? that is Ashley Madekwe from the show Revenge, i am swooned by her style!

{Oh Brickell} You Get Your Own Fashion Week!

Miami is known for its beautiful people and the never-ending nightlife, but never really as the epitome of fashion. Well Miami is trying to change that, first with the ever-growing Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Swim which has become a huge success and now Brickell is trying to do the same and I couldn’t be more excited! Although there has been some comments going around about how it will be a potential flop, I am hoping otherwise and being optimistic. Brickell Fashion Week will take place on April 26^th-28^th, 2012 and I can’t wait to see the lineup of shows they will put together. I am hoping to see emerging talent and some established local designers show their craftsmanship on the runway.

The Man Repeller pays a visit

ahhhhhhhh. <-- that's me screaming

I don't even know where to begin, if you are a fashion addict like me than you know who this leading lady is...none other than Leandra Medine best known as The Man Repeller. And I had the pleasure of meeting her at The Webster Miami for an afternoon meet and greet on Sunday January 15, 2011. Weirdly enough I wasn't all that nervous, for those who know me know I am a nervous wreck! As I was led through the section of the boutique were she was comfortably standing by just chatting away with her dearest followers I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought to myself "wow this is really her" of course other gals were taking their chance with her so I had to prance around patiently before I got my chance to have a one-on-one chat with her. I glided over to her when I saw the opportunity and I wasn't surprised to realize how friendly she was, you see I have this power not many of you know.

Leandra is so friendly she makes you feel as though you have known her all of your life. There was so many things I wanted to talk to her about but of course I didn’t bring them up, like have you always love fashion? how do you measure your success? or even where do you get inspiration from? I think I was in a state of disbelief the whole time and I hope she didn’t think I was some bland awkward girl with nothing interesting to say other than I love your blog! Well I am lying I did get to talk to her about a few things like people accusing her of a liar for having a boyfriend (now fiance) and not standing up to her image of the Man Repeller, to her family owning a home here in Aventura (so Aventura natives keep your eyes open you may just spot the Man Repeller wandering around),

On Friday you saw bold floral outfit inspirations-streetstyle (find post here), today you get to see the bold floral on the runway. I gave you a range of styles for you to be inspired by, and let me tell you the bigger the floral the better but don't worry you can still do small prints of floral. The first photo is so ethereal, so effortlessly chic, every time I look at it it makes me feel like I am floating on a cloud. I want a version of those pants with lots of color and a modern streamline cut. I love to play with clothes, and mixing and matching is my favorite challenge so it is no wonder I am digging this spring's trend because it provides challenge...how to pair floral without looking like a wacko and without looking tacky. Ummm let's see what combinations I come with! how will you pair your floral?

Another trend for Spring (and this time it carries through summer) 12 are Bold large floral prints. You have endless ways of wearing this print, don't be shy it is the perfect print for Floridians and most importantly for Miami residents! what better way to embrace our fun, flirty, sunny culture than floral. These floral prints are nothing like those tacky tourist shirts and shorts you find in the souvenir shops all around Florida, these are clean-line sophisticated and modern versions of that. I gave you several street styles that I loved that can give you the best idea on how to pair your floral piece, mix and match your prints or stick to one floral piece. Have fun in the sun!

Prosciutto Wrapped Persimmons with Jalapeno

Appetizers, the funnest foods alive! well except for sweets (they really are the funnest!). I love food I can pick at, it is my favorite form of eating. Prosciutto wrapped persimmons with jalapeno...Yum! this delightfulness (yes I just made this word up, I do that, it's my thing) was presented to my loved ones on NYE and although they were a little cold by the time they were eaten they were still so good and refreshing, the only thing I would do different is to leave a bit of the jalapeno seeds for a kick of spice. So the first photo was not taken by me, rather by the lady genius where I got the recipe from. Persimmons for those not familiar with this strange tomato-looking fruit is a seasonal fruit and only appears in your grocery fruit aisle in fall and taste like a cross between a plum and a date. I love persimmons they are refreshing and unique in taste, and that's why this recipe is so brilliant you must try it!

On my mind...

beautiful sisters, and myself (center) on NYE

Looking back at photos of the holidays is always so joyful, so I wanted to share with you a few of the things that made me happy this christmas, NYE and the first few days of the new year. My favorite time of the year is always christmas, but for some reason as I get older it seems to move at light speed, I barely get to enjoy it as I use to when I was a child. I think i figured out why...us grown ups have to run around looking for gifts, food supplies to prepare for events, not to mention the hunt for the right outfit! next year I will buy all my gifts before november ends, so that I can enjoy december. This year i had most of my gifts by november but had a few left for last minute. I am excited for the new year and for what's to come, thank you to all my friends and family that have supported me on this new journey.

{Spring 2012} Nudes & Neons Runway looks

So today I give you the nudes & neons of the runway, on Tuesday I gave you nudes & neons in street style (see post here). Remember how I told you that if you were too scared to try neon clothing pieces you could take baby steps by having trying jewelry, shoes, or LIPSTICK...well if you take a look at the first photo in this post you will see the model wearing a very neon colored fuchsia lipstick, that is exactly what I meant! that's one of the reasons why I included that photo in today's post so you can visualize what a neon lipstick would look like, personally I think it looks fresh and fun. Remember just have fun with these bright colors, that's the whole point. For a more sophisticated chic go for the pairing of a neon with a nude piece, and for a fun look go all neon mixing colors. Wohoo go neon!

Design provides me with a euphoric experience, I loose myself in time when I browse sites for inspiration. Now more than ever is this feeling so present, as my boyfriend and I begin a journey, a rite of passage called...a purchase of a home! So exciting yet so stressful, but I can't wait to have a place I can really call our home. So you thought the neon craze was over, think again my friends! It is here to stay at least for one more season...spring 2012. I love color as much as I love nudes, so I am elated for this spring's trend. These are a few of my Pinterest (follow me Here) street style collections I compiled, what a colorful inspiration, is it not? Be playful when you pair neons with nudes, go all out with neon or go sophisticated chic, your choice really. So go ahead serve yourself some neon pieces, you won't regret!

Afraid to go neon all the way...ok I forgive, so try subtle hints of neon by wearing neon colored lipstick, nail polish or a piece of jewelry.
