30 April, 2012

The Panel
the fabulous panel  (minus a few not pictured)

last Wednesday fashion bloggers had a night out at Neiman Marcus at the Village of Merrick Park thanks to Annie Vazquez from The Fashion Poet who worked with Neiman Marcus to put this event together. It was such a hit event! there were several bloggers in house and fashionable ladies as well. The panel was a whole lot of fun, especially the ever so funny Karla Garcia from Ohh Snap Kar Gar, she always says the darndest things and this time it was no different she got several laughs from the crowd. The other bloggers were Maria Andy Tettamanti from The Wordy Girl, Ginger Harris from Electric Blogarella, Jenny Lopez from Lopez Jenny Lopez, and Maria Arguello who was the panel moderator. I can't wait for the next one!

See more photos on my fb page here soon.

P.s. I am still working on getting my laptop fixed so I can get more posts for you. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned.

My Dream Birthday Wishlist

if money was no object this would be the gifts I would give to myself on my birthday in May, that's why is my "Dream" wishlist. If you take a look at the prices of some items they are a far reach for me, but I never rule anything out, may be one day. In the mean time I will continue to dream.

I had some difficulties with my original post of today, so I had to delete...my apologies. But enjoy this one, it's #eyecandy.

Sunday {Brunch} much fun

Sasha's adorable tablescape
Ever so often a group of friends and I try to get together to catch up, one of those happened to be this lovely brunch that my talented photographer friend Sasha (check her site here) put together for us. She made the most divine stuffed french toast. The recipe is so simple yet it gives unexpected results, you'll get the recipe down below thanks to Sasha...you can thank her later! It is s0 much fun to catch up with old friends and see what they are currently up to, sadly since our lives are all over the place these are the times we all get to catch up with each other and laugh about the good ol' days. Most of us have been friends since high school, with new additions along the way, which are always welcomed.

What do you do to stay in touch with your old/new friends?

Final Touch top // Zara undershirt // Leslie Danzis necklace (Gilt) // Asos watch // Bracelets: N&K Designs // Mary Louise Designs // Karen Walker sunnies (find here) // Vintage handbag (ebay) // Zara pants // Zara shoes (find here

the star of the show for this outfit post --- Zara, practically almost everything I was wearing was Zara. It was unintentional but I love Zara with all my might...yes a bit dramatic, my friends know how crazy I get about clothes, shoes, accessories, basically everything. I wore this to a friend's baby shower, which by the way was one of the cutest I have been too, the theme Sock Monkey. You will get to see one photo from the baby shower this Sunday. Oh one more thing, I am obsessed with my lucite heels, they are just too pretty, don't you think?

I saw that Ideeli is selling the necklace I am wearing (bought through Gilt) on this post today for 1 day only, get it here. Yes I am always thinking of you guys.

Side note: I have a pretty cool giveaway lined up for you pre.tty soon. So make sure you stay tuned.

On My Mind

15 April, 2012

 @Cafeina Wynwood Lounge for a friend's birthday

I had a hectic week but there is nothing like working hard and playing harder, don't you agree? here are a few snapshots of my week/end that remind me of how life is always good. Cherish what you have, what you've experienced and what is to come, remember you make what you want to make out of your life. Now that I have bored you with my philosophical thoughts, on to other things...I have a baby shower today. Everyone I know is having babies, what is going on here people? no kidding I love babies. Hope you rocked it out this weekend, see on the next.

P.s. if you see the second photo to last, that's a Goodwill purchase that I was so thrilled about. I got it for $5 and I had it tailored to a more modern cut and I couldn't be happier. I had not been to Goodwill in quite some time, even though i love thrift shopping. Luckily the girls over at The Goodwill Project, have been inspiring me and so I've made several rounds to the store.

{DIY} Rhinestone bracelets

11 April, 2012

Supplies

by now you may know that I love vintage pieces, one of my favorite things to do is incorporate modern or new with vintage pieces in my personal style (that also goes for my home decor). But what I love more is accessories, especially jewelry so DYing jewelry is one of my favorite things to do. This was a fun project indeed and the results where just so whimsical. If you love rhinestones and this is a project for you to try, and it is so easy to do. Rhinestone pieces can be found online, or at thrift shops, the glue and plier you can find at your local craft store.

If you decide to make one of your own, share it with me on my fb page here.

Pascuas

09 April, 2012

Express top, Necklaces: gifted Belargo and a rose gold micro-pave cubic zirconia, Asos watch, Bracelets: N&K Designs, Marie Louise Designs, Vintage Ray Ban sunnies, Mikkat Market silk wide leg pants, Steve Madden espadrilles

El Dia De las Pascuas, that's Easter Sunday/Good Sunday for spanish. I had three stops to make that day and all of you know that splitting your time is no easy task, so I wanted to be comfortable, plus I was going to be by the ocean at one point so easy-breeze clothes was a must. I absolutely love my silk wide leg pants, they are comfortable and they keep you cool all day, not to mention they make you look chic in seconds. This is the pajama style that somehow has crept it's way through mainstream, and I am digging it. Nothing better than to feel like your in your pjs without looking like a bum, at least not in my eyes, well maybe in yours...don't answer that. Did I mention how much I love Mikkat Market, it's like they do their clothing pieces for me, and their prices can't get any better.

Hope those who celebrate Easter Sunday had a wonderful time with loved ones and friends and that you are brunched-out, I know I was. See all you bunnies later.

Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding

06 April, 2012

this has become my favorite easy-to-do dessert, I now crave it constantly...a problem. I do not know why I found the receipt but now it's too late, I will either get sick of it or gain weight (although it is calorie friendly). Either way, it is my heaven on earth and you should make it yours as well. I found the recipe on Skinny Taste a blog that has other amazing treats for you to try. For this round of my bread pudding, i used Valor dark chocolate because this time around there was no Green & Black  as suggested in the recipe (i used Green & Black brand in a previous try and it is much better than Valor for the recipe).

To follow instructions on how to make it click here.

Note: I did not use small ramekins to make individual treats, instead I used a large one and for that reason I had to adjust the recipe. For the ingredients that make up the coating of the bread (that's the ingredients you combine in a bowl) I doubled the amount, so that the bread was perfectly coated.
