What I Wore {Final} Day 4

30 July, 2012

Top: Paper Crane// Necklace & Shoes: Zara// Pants: Forever 21// Lipstick: Kat Von D (A-Go-Go reddish coral)

the last of the outfits I wore to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. These pants were one of the best summer finds, I found them at Forever 21 for only $15...yes I know amazing right? Do I see you running out your seat and into your car? I checked for you they don't have them online. My favorite part of this look is the neon lime, every time I see it on others it catches my attention.

Don't forget I am hosting a giveaway, you can win a stunning necklace. For details click here.

On my mind

29 July, 2012

having some desert fun at Plant The Future

two weekends ago I went to my first Wynwood Art Walk, I had wanted to make it out there for a while and every time it rolled around I had something that would keep me from going. My friend Vivi (pictured above) came back from Pharmacy School and we needed to see each other, so I decided that going out to dinner was not enough. It was lots of fun but very crowded and hot, so I would recommend you go in the fall or winter when temperatures are not in the hundreds. The Wynwood Art Walk happens every second Saturday of the month and it takes up a couple of blocks, parking is a little hard to find so get there early.

Hope you have enjoyed your weekend and may you have a fantastic week.

What I Wore Day 3 x Giveaway

27 July, 2012

Top & Pants: Zara (find them here & here)// Necklace: Miriam Merenfeld c/o // Bag: Urban Expressions// Shoes: Sole Society

this was by far my favorite outfit I wore to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, many people were loving my top and pants. A woman wanted to snap a photo of it for a online magazine only to find herself unable to locate her photographer, oh well next time. I had such an amazing time and I learned so much of what goes on and how much energy you need in order to survive the week. Can't wait for next year where I will no longer be a rookie at it and a bit closer to a pro.

In other news folks, I am hosting a GIVEAWAY yes you heard right a giveaway. Miriam Merenfeld was so gracious to not only gift me the beautiful necklace I am wearing in this outfit but they wanted to give one to my readers as well. My necklace is initialed with AO, an elephant and a hamsa palm. I love elephants so much, they bring good luck and a hamsa palm is to keep away all bad energies.

What I Wore Day 2

26 July, 2012

Top: Express (old)// Necklaces: Vintage (etsy)// Bag: BCBG// Skirt: Zara// Shoes: Boutique 9

my second day was a very long one as well, it started by going to the Blogger's Night Out (it was mostly during the day) in The Betsy Hotel, then having lunch/dinner with Annie and Casey at BLT downstairs (so nice to have had some downtime with these ladies, we bonded!), then headed over to The Raleigh for the shows. It felt like a never-ending Bikram Yoga class through Miami Swim Week, most of us were sweating our behinds off and it wasn't pretty. This right here is what I wore my second day, I fell in love with this crochet skirt I picked up at the Zara semi-annual sale...which is still going on by the way so check it out here.

What I Wore Day 1

25 July, 2012

Dress: BCGB (old)// Necklace as a bracelet: Fossil// Ring: Bar III (double-finger silver ring)// Wrislet: C. Madeleines// Shoes: Zara

what I wore the day one of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim and Funkshion Week. I had a couple of events as seen here and I wanted to have a day to night look because I would spend the whole day at the SOHO Beach House. One of my favorite dresses I have, I love white and what I adore more is a white dress. Whether it be a simple beach cover up dress, a maxi, or a cocktail one, white always looks good on any woman.

That pouch you see on my midriff is just the style of the dress, thank you.

MBFWSwim Day 4

24 July, 2012

Red Carter show

my fourth day was very light, I didn't want to complicate myself with a packed schedule. It wasn't the best of days either way, it was pouring rain most of the day and I did not want to leave the comfort of my home. I spent about an hour in the W Hotel at the showrooms with my friend Annie and then we headed over to The Raleigh Hotel to check-in for the Red Carter swimwear show at the Cabana Grande tent. The show was great, the crowd went nuts when the feathered-up models came out. They were sure show stoppers, how they they still walked flawlessly I don't have the slightest clue. Between the shows I hung out at the MB Star Lounge, where there was small bites (that's what I was excited about) and drinks. Usually I don't have much time to eat during the madness and so getting to unwind felt good. I then headed over to the L Space swimwear show at the Cabana Grande tent, this show was at the top of my favorites. I loved the colors and designs of the three collections L Space showed.

I didn't make it to the last day of Miami Swim Week, I was pretty exhausted and just wanted to relax at home. Hope you have been keeping up with me on instagram and twitter for the live coverage I did through out the shows. It was a great experience and this rookie survived her first Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim week, until next year.

MBFWSwim/FUNKSHION Day 3

23 July, 2012

Saturday's crew: Maria Tettamanti wearing a Pucci bag, her other half Sebastian, her friend Jipsy, Joseph-Daniel Lasik, David Acosta (designer of Our Prince of Peace) and moi

can you check out David's orange sucks and cool as can be floral shirt? loved his look on Saturday, but what can you expect from a designer right? we were all very colorful indeed Blues were the choice of the night I guess. We don't look miserable there but we were all dying of heat, Maria (The Wordy Girl) has proof of our discomfort here. I had a blast spending most of the night with her and the crew, Maria will make you laugh till you get a six-pack of abs. She is the funniest, most energetic and positive blogger I know. I got front-row seats thanks to her persistence and gave me pointers for next year...I called Saturday night Maria Bootcamp 101. I was also excited because I got to meet in person the fabulous Designer David Acosta of Our Prince of Peace.

Moving on, I attended the Aqua Di Lara swimwear show at the Oasis tent, the anticipated Mara Hoffman swimwear show at the Cabana Grande tent, and one of my absolute favorites of all time designer Chloe's show at SOHO beach House. Mara Hoffman sure did not disappoint, the styling was amazonian goddess-like and her designs true to her her style. Chloe was just divine, she showed swimwear and ready-to-wear. Her clothe are so effortlessly chic, I melt every time I see her collections. They just gets me...totally my aesthetics if only I can afford them.

today is the last day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim and I am looking forward to one particular show. Stay tuned for live updates through my instagram and twitter handle @chicstreetsandeats
