|Ms.| Stella McCartney at Saks

29 November, 2012

yes your eyes are reading correctly Ms. Stella McCartney will be gracing us with her lovely presence this Monday December 3rd. I know for some of you it may be a bit far but for fashion junkies it's a sacrifice that must be done, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Saks Fifth Avenue welcomes the British fashion designer to its Boca Raton flagship store this fall for a personal appearance and fundraiser to benefit Florence Fuller Child Development Centers. To mark the occasion, the luxury retailer will host a private cocktail party in honor of the designer and celebrate the much-anticipated opening of the Stella McCartney shop within Saks. Florence Fuller Child Development Centers’ goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of young children from economically challenged families in our community. Florence Fuller Child Development Centers provide quality childcare, early education, family support programs, and the only Head Start preschool in Boca Raton. We prepare children for a lifetime commitment to learning and social achievement, while empowering their families to build a brighter future. Learn more at www.ffcdc.orgor by calling 561-391-7274.

Stella McCartney is lifelong vegetarian, and does not use any leather or fur in her designs, which is one of the reasons why I love her line so much. Although I am not vegetarian I do hold a special place for people who are dedicated to the well being of animals and wildlife. She has been able to establish herself as a luxury designer without having to use the traditional materials that make a luxury designer so exquisite at their craft. Her pieces are so rich and well tailored that the use of leather or fur is never missed, in fact it makes you wish more people would get on the same boat.

Hope that you can make it because it is not only an amazing opportunity but it is also for a good cause.

I finally get an opportunity to an outfit post for you guys, I really go through withdrawal symptoms when I don't get to do what I enjoy most and that's doing shoots. I had never been a model, nor did I ever want to be one but I sure enjoy doing photo shoots, I am still a bit shy and awkward but I am getting a bit more comfortable being in front of the lens. This was an unexpected shoot, as my partner and I went on a quick Christmas shopping before I headed back to the hospital to pay my grandmother a visit who has been in the ICU since last Sunday and in and out of the hospital for a month and a half now. Thank you to those who have been wishing us well and keeping my family and I under your prayers. It is truly exhausting and emotionally draining to be in this state, but I know she will get better and will soon be back at home.

I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with loved ones and that you had tons to do for this long weekend we had. There is so much coming ahead, I am already feeling tired and it hasn't even started yet. Hope you have a fantastic week and always look forward to your comments.

|Thanks|giving food x decor ideas

21 November, 2012

sorry for the lack of posts lately, I have been going through some family health issues that have kept me from giving you what you like to see most. When people are under stress all of those creative juices evaporate into thin air and it becomes extremely difficult to get back on the wagon. I am hoping that the new year my family and I can leave the trying times behind and can start anew. At this point I don't know if I will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving the way I always do, surrounded by family but I know that regardless of where I am, I will always be thankful for everything that I have because in times of despair is when you have to work harder at reminding yourself of your blessings.

but I know most of you will be able to spend it with those you love and enjoy the laughter, sarcasm, and all those crazy comments that go around the table. So to give you a bit of inspiration here are a few recipes I collected on my Pinterest boards. I want to try to do the Apple Cider Punch (1st photo) which seems to be easy to make. Hope that this helps and that you find something you want to try on Thanksgiving day.

May you enjoy your time, feel blessed to be alive and give your loved ones a wet kiss because that's what is all about...love.

|It's Here| Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

15 November, 2012

it's finally here the much anticipated H&M collaboration with the exquisite French fashion house that is Maison Martin Margiela. It hits selected stores today Thursday, November 15th at 8AM and the H&M at Miami Beach on Lincoln Road is one of the select locations in the US that will carry the collection. Discover your favorite pieces from the iconic French fashion house here

I am hoping that there is something left by the time I go, because you all know these collections always fly off the racks from people who have been sleeping there overnight and then end up on ebay for double the price. One of the things that I do not appreciate from all of these big collaborations that H&M does, but I've heard they have a system in place for that and are only putting out limited quantities at a time to avoid that, let's see if that is the truth.

If you are lucky enough to snatch something let me know, I would love to hear what you got from the collection. See you at H&M.

|DIY| Lace collar x Belt duo

13 November, 2012

this has been by far my favorite DIY project I have done, I love the results and cannot wait to show it off in an outfit post. I need to find the perfect outfit to go along with it, I have a few ideas. Collars in general have been quite the seen, and lace collars are stunners. They are delicate and feminine but if you pair it with something sophisticated and edgy you get a spectacular result.

I hope you find this tutorial very helpful and if you decide to do it yourself I would love to hear about it. Stay tuned to my outfit post featuring this cutie.

Burnout

07 November, 2012

keeping it short today as I am exhausted from all the Election 2012 coverage. I just want to say that I am loving these pants from Petticoat Alley (which by the way are on mega sale for $33.74), they are so comfortable without losing its appeal. I love the burnout look of it and the way it is lined is pretty cool and almost sexy. In other news I am looking forward to tomorrow's festivities for the H&M Grand opening in Lincoln Road.

P.S. Congratulations President Obama for your re-election.

Voting is CHIC

06 November, 2012

no matter what party you are affiliated with or what candidate you choose to vote for, the important thing is that you vote. Us young people have the power to change the course of our future and have the freedom to be outspoken about what we believe in. There are people around the world that do not get to exercises that right and cannot express their thoughts without the fear of punishment. So consider yourself lucky and be proud to live in a country that allows you to say what you feel, where what you want, go where ever you want and work in whatever you want.

Freedom is a beautiful thing so go out there and VOTE, encourage your family and friends. I for one had to encourage my significant other to stand in line after waiting five hours to vote, he wanted to leave the minute he got there and half way through the line but I reminded him how important it was and he stuck it out. We couldn't walk after that, the heels of our feet where in so much pain but it was worth it.

Happy Election Day!
