for those of you who missed the video on my social media sites here it is, a video that was put together by Pavan Liqueur of our day with them a few weeks back (see original post here). Hope you enjoy it, I had such a fantastic time with them, I wish I can redo the day all over again. I want to thank you again for all the support during this contest and to all of you who voted for me and allowed me to take part in all this fun.

|Dining Out| OTC

22 February, 2013

i had seen this little spot open up and was curious to see what it was all about, as I am always when I see or hear of a new eatery. So I decided to look up OTC to see what kind of food they served, I was instantly excited to know that a place that serves American style comfort food was just around the corner of where I live. I made two attempts to go there before actually making, but I guess you can say the anticipation built an even more exciting experience - yes I get that excited to eat. The place is adorable just the way I love restaurants to be, the downside is the lack of space, but then again that is what makes it so charming. On Sunday's especially it gets pretty jammed with people, so good luck finding a place to sit, if you have patience than you will be ok or get there right when they open which is 11:30am to get a spot, don't go around noon, that is when it's the busiest. It is worth the wait though, I guarantee it, you will be drooling and wanting more of what you had. The bold flavors of each plate definitely are the showstoppers and the local ingredients and local beers make it all that more special. I have a feeling OTC is here to stay and I am delighted to have them as neighbors, "hey neighbors welcome to the hood".

What we ate:
Brunch plates: Breakfast Tacos (with delicious BBQ pulled pork) and Chicken & Waffles

Two must haves:
Since we only had two plates here, I say have them both. The Breakfast Tacos are divine, they come in three but I wanted five, the pulled pork is filled with so much flavor and the ingredients tasted so fresh (a good sign). The Chicken & Waffles is perfectly crispy, when you spread the maple butter and drizzle the syrup is a dish made in heaven.

Beanies & Cowboys

20 February, 2013

Top & Beanie: Forever 21| Bag: H&M| Jeans: Levi's| Boots: Zara (old)

my Sunday brunch attire, casual and comfy, doesn't get better than that. These boots have been in my closet for several years now and I truly love them so very much. They are the perfect cowboy boots with out being to cowboy, get me? and the color is one of my go to colors - cognac. It was cool out on Sunday so I took the chance to wear my beanie that I haven't used in five years, crazy I know. The last time I used that beanie was during a 15 day trip through South America, where freezing temperatures were the real deal.

on another note, I am aware of the fact that I haven't posted my commentary on our book club read The Beautiful Fall, to be completely frank I haven't finished it. I have been pretty occupied with other things I haven't been able to finish it, so I do apologize, but really who is reading with me anyway? I will hopefully have it by the end of the month so that you can hear what I have to say about it.

i don't know how this happened but it did and I couldn't be happier. I always thought to myself one day I will be in a magazine, but those were childhood thoughts and little did I know I would, even if it was in a small way. This whole look is actually one of my favorites ever, as I am a lover of gold and black or gold and white and well, you can see for yourself I am head-to-toe in gold and black. This was the only day that I went out to an Art Basel event, which wasn't much really, that was during the time my grandmother was in the hospital and so my time was consumed in that. This was the day I met Scott Schuman - The Sartorialist and Garance Dore, ran into the Man Repeller and missed Kayne West make a quick appearance to get Scott's autograph...pretty interesting day.

dreams no matter the size always come true if you keep them in your thoughts long enough and work hard towards them. One of my small dreams came true, next is a whole feature of my blog on a magazine{wink, wink}. Big thanks to Karla who gave me these two shots to show you just what got me into ELLE UK.

BTW right next to me is my dear friend Angeles Almuna wearing her fabulous flower brooch design.

Dots and Boots

11 February, 2013

Dress: Forever 21| Sunnies: Borrowed from Sasha| Tights: Target| Boots: Zara| Clutch: C. Madeleines -Vintage

i had not been able to post this outfit but this is what I wore to go for a romantic dinner at Villa Azur (see post here) a few weeks back, when Miami experienced a mini-winter (very mini). I had been eyeing those Zara boots for ever and that was one of the things I had asked for Christmas from the main squeeze but he decided to give me something else instead. I found them in stores one random visit and they were the last ones, I think someone returned them because I had been to Zara several times before and didn't see them...they were meant to be with me. I have always been a huge fan of over the knee boots but in Miami we can use them about one day a year.

Enough of my boots, hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and hope you have been feeling inspired by all the breath-taking magic that is happening in New York right now for fashion week. I know I am, I love that they have a livestream of some of the shows, which has allowed me to feel a part of it.

Juxtapose

06 February, 2013

Jacket: Forever 21| Top & Pants: Zara| Necklaces: Belargo, Amorium Hand Jewelry c/o, Privileged| Rings: Lesa Michelle, M-16 (gifted)

i wore this fun little number for the PAVAN Miami Style day, it was a perfect day to night outfit and extremely comfortable as well. This outfit is the very best of a juxtaposition, a tribal print on the pants and top, paired with a sleek sophisticated white jacket...a hippie meets a banker sorta deal. Nonetheless, it is fun, fresh and a good transitional outfit from winter to spring. I got lucky because that day happened to be just the right amount of breeze weather so the jacket stayed on the whole day.

in other news, New York Fashion Week starts tonight with a Gala and will be in full swing tomorrow. I had planned to attend and had saved up a few dollars to make my way over but with wedding bells and other big things coming I had to put it a side. I know some of my Miami blogger girls will be up there, I know they will have a blast. Can't wait to see what Fall 2013 collections will look like. Stay up to date here.

PAVAN Miami Style

04 February, 2013

last Sunday was a day that should be repeated every month, a day of brunching, sipping on delicious cocktails, massages, trying out swimwear courtesy of The Orchid Boutique and relaxing under the stars. The day was all possible courtesy of the fabulous people from Pavan, and we couldn't be more thankful. I along with my other competing bloggers, Annie of The Fashion Poet, Ginger of Electric Blogarella, Daniela of Nanys Klozet, and Maria of The Wordy Girl were escorted around town for a full day of fun, chatting, instagraming, tweeting and getting to know the Pavan team. I was looking forward to taste Pavan Liqueur as I had heard rave reviews, it did not disappoint, in fact I think I found my absolute favorite liqueur. It has a very subtle and sweet taste, which makes it a deadly combination because you can have several glasses and not even notice it until it's time to get up.

the contest is now over and although I did not win, it was a wonderful experience and I am very thankful to all of you who voted for me, it means a lot to see the support. I hope that one of you win the trip to France and you can enjoy for me. A special thank you to the Pavan team and to Simonett of Miami Style Mafia for arranging this day for us.
