This pink Zara coat has been getting a lot of wear and spotlight, the thing with it is that it is so damn versatile, I can't resist it. I guess that's a good thing, at least in my opinion, you know the type of pieces that you just will wear till they break apart, isn't that sign that you got something good? See this coat is not only versatile, it is chic, but extremely warm, which means I don't have to triple layer, all I have to wear is a tee and I am good. This is what I wore on Sunday whilst in Paris, and I have to say that I felt like a Parisian, maybe because all the uber-chic Parisian girls would look at me with a look of approval (or maybe it was in my head) but either way it felt good. When I think of fashion I think of these girls, they just have this effortless aura about them that I can't get enough of, I think Paris was made for me, but then again I am not the first one to thing so, right?

On side note, my new Nike Blazer Mid sneakers were one of the hardest things I had to hunt for, I scavenged the Internet for months to find them as they were sold out everywhere. One day while searching endlessly through eBay, I saw some in another color but they were for Youth and that's when I got the genius idea of looking under Youth, voila I found them at last. Yes these are meant to be Youth size sneakers but that did not stop me what so ever, because when I want something I have to have it.

|Pre-Wedding Week Series| The Bachelorette Party x What To Wear

13 February, 2014

Today I give you the last installment of the Pre-Wedding Week Series, it's been a fun time putting them together, because it made me look back at my own experiences and happy that I got to share them with you. Hope that some of the things I shared, helped you in some way or at the most entertained you. This installment is all about having fun and distressing. Most Brides and Grooms look forward to that night or in some cases weekend where you celebrate your "last day(s) of singlehood" or as some like to refer it as the "last day(s) of freedom." I was one of those brides that looked forward to it, although I always envisioned my bachelorette weekend as a trip to New York, but due to my move to Germany I decided that it would be to costly for myself and the rest of my bridesmaids so I kept it local and it turned out to be lots of fun. We stayed at the Fontainebleau Hotel in sunny Miami Beach, a place I know all to well and grew up spending my time in. The Bachelorette festivities started on the weekend before my wedding, where we checked in on a Saturday and spent the majority of our time in the Lapis Spa. This will come as shocker for most of you (because every time I mention it, everyone goes array), it was my first time in a Spa, and the first time I got a full on spa treatment, I've done massages before but never at a spa, and oh so happy I did. I wanted to melt the whole day in there, I could have easily cancelled the rest of the plans but my MOHS and Bridesmaids worked so hard to put it together, it would have been a terrible thing to do, though I thought about it. The spa is incredible, the service and staff is superb, highly recommend.

The festivities continued with an excellent dinner at one of their restaurants (as they have several, and pretty good ones), Scarpetta an Italian restaurant that has an intimate and romantic feel to it. Once we fueled up for the night, we hoped over to the SLS Hotel where we did a quick stop at their restaurant The Bazaar by Jose Andres where my bridesmaid Lily and her sister Lisi set up a very cool and chic Liquid Nitrogen Caipirinha tableside service. After that we walked right out on to the patio to Hyde Beach. That's where we ended our night, we thought we were going to go club hoping but half of the group was exhausted including myself, I really don't know how to party anymore. We headed back to the hotel for some girl chat until the wee hours, until each one of us gave into to our sleep, except one of my bridesmaid's who was very entertained and watched the sunrise.

|Pre-Wedding Week Series| A Wedding Guide To Save Your Mind

10 February, 2014

The fourth installment of the Pre-Wedding Week series is all about saving you the headaches that come with planning a wedding, although I don't guarantee to cure them all, at least you will have less of them (I hope). I know I went through several headaches myself, seeing how I had to plan a wedding from a very far distance and not to mention no Internet...yea you heard right. I had to wait countless minutes for things to load, majority of the stuff I ordered where done via my iPhone at molasses Internet speeds, talk about a challenge. I did it, I survived and I want you to know that the most important thing is to hire help or get family and friends to assist you if you cannot what so ever afford a wedding planner/coordinator. I think I would have saved money, time and headaches if I would have hired someone, but I was on a small budget and I thought I would save lots of cash that way. I don't think we saved a lot by doing that move, in fact, we ended up spending double then what we wanted. I had some help though, that of my MOS and Bridesmaids, I am so grateful for each of them as they all took some part to create this day, some more than others, like my besties Cassandra and Katie and my two sister-in-laws (who I drove the craziest). So advice to you brides to be, do research on how much it will cost to hire professional help.

Another major advice, stay true to what you solely desire, do not let others chime in on what you should do or what you need to have, etc. Some people may do it out of good will, because they love you but they fail to see that this is your day and you should have it your way, your vision and your style. Do not think you need to have all the trimmings of a traditional wedding, the more personal, the more you make it based on how you live your lives on the regular the more people will truly enjoy it. At the end of it all, you need to enjoy it, enjoy it till the very last second, that's all.

Hope this helps, share any thoughts or if you have any other questions, please ask, I would love to help.

|Pre-Wedding Week Series| The Wedding Dances

08 February, 2014

My apologies, this post was intended to come out Thursday but I was having some issues with my laptop and couldn't post it, so the Pre-Wedding Week Series will continue through the middle of this upcoming week. The third installment of this series will present the songs that we selected for the main dances of our wedding.  The hardest song selection was the Father and Daughter songs as I wanted them to represent my connection with both my father and step-father, the choices I made in the end where the perfect ones, because it really embody how they each feel about me. My husband from long ago knew what song he wanted to dance with his mother and he chose it because it is such a happy and positive song. The selection for our first dance was the easiest one, although for years I had two songs in mind that I wanted to use, but a few months before our wedding, I stumbled upon the song that in the end we selected and I was instantly in love and I knew we had to use it for our dance. As some of you know, I am an eternal lover and romantic, everything that I wanted for our wedding was feeding off of that sensibility.

A tip for all your brides, when picking songs for your own special day, try to think of how you want the day/night to flow and pick them based on your own personal sensibility, but also that of your wedding day. If you are a eternal lover and romantic like myself, then here are few songs for your first dance as husband and wife that you may like:

She Is Love | Parachute
Give Me Love | Ed Sheeran
Dancing In The Dark | Mat Kearney
All of Me | John Legend

For the ladies who are already married or will be soon, what songs did you select for your dances? I would love to know, please share.

|Pre-Wedding Week Series| The Engagement Photos

05 February, 2014

The second installment of Pre-Wedding Week Series is the engagement photo session we did back in March, right before we left Miami. We had to do things fast before we left Miami so when we took our engagement photos we were already officially married by the court, it was only because we were moving overseas that we got married a year before our ceremony. We also had to rush to do our photos because our amazing photographer was very pregnant and would be unable to do anything in later weeks. I remember being a little overwhelmed because I was dealing with two major events in our lives, our wedding plans and our big move to Europe, so when it came down to picking a theme and location for our engagement session I wanted it to be relaxed and easy, and so I thought of the idea of shooting in our neighborhood, because we wanted to capture the essence of our everyday life, so that when we would look back at them we knew exactly where we were and what we were doing.

We lived in Brickell an area that all Miami natives are familiar with, situated in the heart of Downtown Miami. So our everyday lives consisted of walking our dog, going to our two favorite Gelato shops, going for coffee, going for drinks or grabbing dinner at some of our favorite local restaurants within walking distance. That's how the theme of our engagement session unfolded and it was one of the most fun and easy-going part of our wedding planning. I will be so grateful for our photographer who was a trooper to face the humidity and heat of Miami as a pregnant woman to shoot our session.

A tip I will give you, don't get to caught up with wanting things to look perfect, trust me I am a victim of that myself, but the more natural you make your theme the happier you will feel and that will translate through the photos. Pick a theme that will highlight who you both are as a couple and think of how you want to remember that moment in time.

Hope you enjoyed the photos, to see more of our engagement photos you can visit our photographer's Facebook page here

|Pre-Wedding Week Series| DIY Flower Crown

03 February, 2014

This week I will be bringing you a few of the things that happen before a wedding, as well as some tips you need to know if you are getting married yourself, I call it Pre-Wedding Week Series. The first installment is this easy peasy do-it-yourself flower crown that you can wear on the day of your wedding. This was my own flower crown that I wore for the reception part of my wedding, for the ceremony I used a birdcage veil that I also did myself (see here), you will get to see a better photo of the birdcage veil in the Post-Wedding Week Series. I found all my materials on Etsy (here x here). Doing your own flower crown will save you almost double the price of most crowns in the market, so get to it.

Flower crowns have been used in celebrations for centuries, the Greeks and Romans were the ones that proliferated them, making them a very popular choice for brides, flower girls and now in modern times for festival goers, but ancient people also wore them for any form of celebration. I chose to wear a flower crown for my reception because I wanted to have a very ethereal garden nymph feel to my look, as my wedding was set in a Garden. I can tell you that I wish I could have worn it way beyond my wedding day, as I just loved it way too much and I really felt like a garden nymph. I also felt like Galadriel the beautiful royal elf of middle-earth in the Lord of the Ring series and The Hobbit series.

What was your choice of headpiece for your wedding? or what will you be choosing?
