| Post-Wedding Week Series | The MOHs x Bridesmaids Wear

08 May, 2014

Today we take a look at what my beautiful MOHs x Bridesmaids wore on our wedding day. Choosing a style for their dresses was not hard, only because I am a very detailed person and I envision things in my head pretty well. The first idea I had was to have them buy their own dresses in one color palette, which would have most likely created a gradient of the color since buying the dresses separately and different styles always never look the same. Everything changed when I came upon a wedding on Oncewed (one of my favorite wedding blogs) and saw these stunning dresses that a bride chose for her bridesmaids and I knew I wanted to do something similar if not the same. I don't have shame in copying a style if it is well-worth it, and this was one was indeed well-worth it. I kept gravitating towards that look, it was the look I had been wanting to achieve, so began by choosing two different colors for the dresses so that I can still maintain a gradient effect.  One of my bridesmaids and sister-in-law Annette did all the leg work for the materials, she found the perfect ones to use, then she, my MOHs' and bridesmaids went on the difficult hunt for a seamstress, which they ended up finding the perfect one at the last minute.

John Llamosa, did such an amazing job with the dresses, they look so similar to the ones I saw on Oncewed, that I was so pleased. If you are in the South Florida area and are looking for someone to make a dress for you for any occasion, I highly recommend him, he is professional and timely and will work to give you what you really want (for contact information, email me or leave me a message and I will provide it). For my bridesmaids gifts, I had two separate pieces I gave them, I had costume made robes from Silk and More via Etsy, which came out so adorable and great quality for the price. My second gift was a very special one, because I worked closely with my very good friend Angeles Almuna whom I met through blogging, to create her signature grosgrain ribbon flower bracelets for each of my bridesmaids to wear on the day of our wedding. Her designs are so exclusive and rare, they can provide an outfit with a touch of modernness and chicness it needs. So happy with every piece my bridesmaids wore on my very special day, I could not have selected anything better to fit the vibe of our day.

  1. These dresses are SIMPLY amazing. And Angeles' bracelets are such a sweet and fashion-forward touch, naturally.
