| Chic Travels | A Girls Road Trip (Part I)

| ABOVE | Giving these two sillies a tour of Frankfurt's most popular areas, the Eiserner Steg Bridge, the Romer and of course we had some treats along the way.

| ABOVE | We also made a half day trip to the nearby city of Wiesbaden, a charming city that is only thirty minutes away from Frankfurt. The name Wiesbaden translates to "meadow baths" because of its famous hot springs, as well as being one of the oldest spa towns in Europe.

| ABOVE x BELOW | Our Girls Road trip started with wine tasting in two different wineries/vineyards, known as Weinguts in German. First stop was the Robert Weil Weingut, which looked like a place where you would find any Disney Princess, I personally felt like Snow White walking through the garden. This place was so beautiful, we could have easily stayed the whole day just drinking wine and chatting away. The winery was purchased by Dr. Robert Weil in 1867 and is located in the village called Kiedrich, part of the Rheingau (one of thirteen designated wine regions in Germany) which dates back to 950.

| ABOVE | Our second stop was the Leitz Weingut located in the popular town of Rudesheim, a winemaking town located in the Rhine Gorge and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Leitz Winery is said to date back to 1744 and was rebuilt after a bombing raid took place in the area late during the Second World War. We visited their Wine Tasting House, which was located away from the vineyards themselves. 

| ABOVE | In the streets of Rudesheim | BELOW | We stopped for lunch at the Central Hotel's restaurant Stiebler's Rauchfang, which was recommended by our host at the Leitz Winery. We had the typical dishes of Germany, Schnitzel, potatoes and more pork.  

This was a fun and adventurous trip that I took back in June with my gals Lily, Lisi and Sandy. One reason it was adventurous, was because it was my first time driving around Germany, which I wasn't too nervous about but then again I didn't foresee what was to come. I will elaborate on part two of our travel documentary. Our first few adventures were the best ones out of the whole trip, because well that's when we got to drink wine and lots of it, well my girls did do a lot of drinking, I was driving so I had to only take a sip of each wine we tasted. | Chic Travels | Prague (Part I)

In the beginning of May, my in-laws and us headed east of Germany to Czech Republic, our destination - Prague. It was a mother's day and birthday gift from the husband for my mother-in-law and I, and we were very excited, because as far as I can remember we (particularly my mother-in-law) had been dreaming of going there. Yesterday you saw the road that led us to Prague, today you get to see this beautiful city in Part I of my Chic Travels. Prague, the fourteenth largest city in the European Union and it is also the capital of Bohemia. Bohemia is a historical country of central Europe and for which occupies the western two-thirds of  traditional Czech lands, it was once a Kingdom of the Holy Roman Empire. Czech Republic has a rich history, Prague itself has had several different settlements as early as to 200 BC by Celts, and according to legend the city was founded in the 8th century by Czech duchess and prophetess Libuse and her husband Premysl, who founded the Premyslid Dynasty. There most recent historical events was when Czech Republic became a sovereign state, separating from Slovakia on January 1st, 1993.

Prague is truly stunning, with excellent cuisine and very friendly citizens. Our experience left us with a desire to have more time in this magical city, although it is a perfect long weekend escape. Also, because they do not use the Euro, it makes for a very budget-friendly place to visit. The most delightful of surprises was their cuisine, it is phenomenal, their most popular dishes consist of meat and potatoes or dumplings. In both of our traditional restaurant experiences we had amazing food, but my favorite of the two was recommended by my friend Sandy of Madly Addictive, who told me I had to go to Novomestsky Pivovar. We got very lucky that our hotel was a few minutes away from the restaurant. If you are ever in Prague, it is a must to dine there, the service, ambiance and cuisine was excellent. Stay tuned for next week's part II of Prague and an unexpected experience that I sure was happy to have.

From the Passenger Seat

From the Passenger Seat, a view of the roads that led us to Prague from Frankfurt, this time the in-laws joined us on this road trip. My favorite photos I shot from the passenger seat was the fields of yellow flowers that sprouted every where around Germany during late Spring, they are much more beautiful in person than in photos. It made out journey so much brighter and happier, because who doesn't get happy when looking at fields of yellow flowers? I also have to say that I love the last photo, only because my baby Barney Stinson looks so adorable sleeping with his grandmother. Barney was so exhausted from all the walking he did with us during this trip, he slept most of the ride back home, he was a trooper.
