I am utterly in love with what Angeles Almuna did with this video, she is a wonderful friend whom I met because of blogging. She approached me with this idea that she was working on and I instantly said yes, because who can say no to Angeles, she is the sweetest and most humble of people. Not to mention her designs are ridiculously fabulous and one of a kind. I had never come across with designs as the ones she makes, the Spike Edgy flower brooch I am wearing is one of her designs and has been getting some serious attention. Her designs are versatile, which means you can wear them with just about anything and can be worn in many different ways, such at the waist, even on the back to give a dress or flowy top some life. Make sure to check out her designs, they will rock your world.

What did you think of the video? and by the way, I have now become obsessed with Jamie Woon, whom I had never heard of until I saw this video and heard the song.

i don't know how this happened but it did and I couldn't be happier. I always thought to myself one day I will be in a magazine, but those were childhood thoughts and little did I know I would, even if it was in a small way. This whole look is actually one of my favorites ever, as I am a lover of gold and black or gold and white and well, you can see for yourself I am head-to-toe in gold and black. This was the only day that I went out to an Art Basel event, which wasn't much really, that was during the time my grandmother was in the hospital and so my time was consumed in that. This was the day I met Scott Schuman - The Sartorialist and Garance Dore, ran into the Man Repeller and missed Kayne West make a quick appearance to get Scott's autograph...pretty interesting day.

dreams no matter the size always come true if you keep them in your thoughts long enough and work hard towards them. One of my small dreams came true, next is a whole feature of my blog on a magazine{wink, wink}. Big thanks to Karla who gave me these two shots to show you just what got me into ELLE UK.

BTW right next to me is my dear friend Angeles Almuna wearing her fabulous flower brooch design.

MBFWSwim/FUNKSHION Day 3

23 July, 2012

Saturday's crew: Maria Tettamanti wearing a Pucci bag, her other half Sebastian, her friend Jipsy, Joseph-Daniel Lasik, David Acosta (designer of Our Prince of Peace) and moi

can you check out David's orange sucks and cool as can be floral shirt? loved his look on Saturday, but what can you expect from a designer right? we were all very colorful indeed Blues were the choice of the night I guess. We don't look miserable there but we were all dying of heat, Maria (The Wordy Girl) has proof of our discomfort here. I had a blast spending most of the night with her and the crew, Maria will make you laugh till you get a six-pack of abs. She is the funniest, most energetic and positive blogger I know. I got front-row seats thanks to her persistence and gave me pointers for next year...I called Saturday night Maria Bootcamp 101. I was also excited because I got to meet in person the fabulous Designer David Acosta of Our Prince of Peace.

Moving on, I attended the Aqua Di Lara swimwear show at the Oasis tent, the anticipated Mara Hoffman swimwear show at the Cabana Grande tent, and one of my absolute favorites of all time designer Chloe's show at SOHO beach House. Mara Hoffman sure did not disappoint, the styling was amazonian goddess-like and her designs true to her her style. Chloe was just divine, she showed swimwear and ready-to-wear. Her clothe are so effortlessly chic, I melt every time I see her collections. They just gets me...totally my aesthetics if only I can afford them.

today is the last day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim and I am looking forward to one particular show. Stay tuned for live updates through my instagram and twitter handle @chicstreetsandeats

Madewell Summer Styling Session

18 May, 2012

with leading lady Kasie of Madewell Lincoln Road

what a night it was yesterday, it was so nice to get to spend some time with the Madewell team and a few other bloggers that made out last night. Bloggers love the opportunity to mingle and catch up on what we have been up to and Madewell at Lincol Road gave us the opportunity to do so over their signature cocktail, braids and macarons, what more can we need right? The Madewell team is so cordial, they make you feel right at home, plus they have rockin' style but what can you expect they work at Madewell. They had a very cool secret sale, where you had the chance to snatch up scarfs, colored chambray shirts, dresses and more. People starting swarming in at the later part of the evening and it was getting caliente in the store from all the movement, which is always a sign of a successful event. If you guys didn't have the chance to make it out last night, don't worry I have word that there will be others, so stay tuned. In the mean time here are a few snapshots of last night's accounts, oh and I can't wait to wear the metallic coated skinnes I got last night.

Check out my Facebook page here for a few extra photos from the event.
