Life is a Breeze

06 March, 2018

Life is a Breeze

Ladies, it has been a very long time since I last posted a look! the last two years of my life have been such a transforming one, one that has left me with little time and even less desire to post on the blog. It is also in part that most people don't even read blogs anymore, the likelihood that this even gets read is slim, but I feel nostalgic, so for that reason, I wanted to come back to my good old days, where I used to pour my thoughts to all of you, on daily stuff, life changing events, traveling experiences, new foodie spots I would get excited about and more. Those things are still happening but happening less on the blog and living more on my IG life. Which by the way, I changed my handle that I had since 2011, that is 7 years, it was hard to part with it, it meant so much, most people were against the change but I had to move forward in a new direction, because life is a breeze, right? you change, you move forward and follow the breeze. Feels nice to come back here again, hope to see you here, like the good ol'days.

G A B L E S Strolling

27 March, 2017

G A B L E S Strolling

I am going to sound like a broken record, but oh boy is it so hard for me to work on a post for the blog now a days, to make matters worse, half the time the wifi is either working at molasses speed or is not connecting, so the very little time that I find to get working on a post, I find myself trying to work out these technical issues, which by the time I am able to fix them, I have to go back to #mamaduties, so I end up back at square one. Anyway, enough about my rant, I want to work on some travel posts that I have way overdue, some that are two years old...yikes, but like that good old saying goes, better late than never. Hopefully this week or the following I can start on the editing part so that I can share some fun travels we did while we were still living in the EU (sigh) and pre-baby era.

About this post, funny how social media works, I find it spectacular both for its pros and cons. This being a pro, see. I met Jenise, the photographer through social media, her husband and I went to high school together and she started following my blog, and one day she realized we had one degree of separation, or however that works. I began to follow her, she has an adorable blog about mommyhood called A Toddler & A Topknot but as you may already suspect, she is also a photographer. As I became a mom, I began to reach out to other moms or soon to be moms just to get tips and such, and she was one of them. That brought us to this point, where we worked together on two outfit sessions. we had such a fun day, kiddos and all, that I wish I had more days like that, with like minded mamas who want to create, connect and lend a hand. Thank you for the lovely photos and for a fun day Jenise!

J A R R I T O S Saturday

10 March, 2017

J A R R I T O S Saturday

As a new mom, getting on a schedule of any sort has been a struggle, at least for me. I think the major problem is that I am currently a stay at home mom as they call it, therefore, the only schedule I have managed to master is the feeding and sleeping schedule of #babyOlivia, but slowly I am working on getting my thing together and working on my creative mojo. I am also, crawling out the new parent cloud that every new parent goes through for the first two months, more on that on another post. Plus, I know that most people now a days don't really check blogs anymore, so that makes anyone feel uninspired, you want to know that people will take the time to come to your blog to see what you have to say, after all, it takes a lot of effort to work on one particular post, but even with that knew reality, I get nostalgic and so I still come back.

Anyway, this post was an impromptu one, as so it seems to be the new case for me. This look was worn for my mama's birthday breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Homestead, every time I am in Homestead, which is not often, I make it a point to go to my go to Mexican supermarket and stock up on all sorts of goodies, which I posted on my IG stories the day I was there, that includes the never to miss Jarritos Mexican soda that I love, the only soda I will drink, because I am a strictly water kinda girl. What is your choice of drink on the daily?

Side note, I am currently obsessed with kimonos, like this Forever 21 that I am wearing, but I want this ONE as well.

The Rebound Look

28 December, 2016

The Rebound Look

I call this the rebound look because I am back to my old self and I couldn't be happier, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed being pregnant for most of the time but on occasion I would have my days where I felt desperate to give birth, so I can hold my baby girl in my arms and fit into my regular jean, what pregnant girl doesn't dream of that, am I right? Not only do you want to fit into your old jeans, you also want to fit into any regular shoe, even more so one with some heel on it, because towards the end of your pregnancy you end up having just one pair of shoe that fit your swollen feet. Luckily for me, I found these leopard print beauties through Octer, a new site that has many of our favorite brands in one place. If you are like me and love to browse the Internet for what is new and fresh but hate to be going from one website to the next, then Octer is for you, they make it easy to find exactly what you were looking for right in one place. I found so many things I wanted but I ended up settling for this pair of heels because I knew they had the right amount of sexy but still comfy enough to keep me from hitting the floor, after all, 9 months have passed since I wear any heels.

P.s. I am so obsessed with my new bell sleeve top, I practically want to wear it in my sleep, yes crazy alert but hey give this mama a break, she is just happy to be wearing normal clothes.

Comfy Classic for Mini Babymoon

22 November, 2016

Comfy Classic for Mini Babymoon

If you follow me on IG you already know that the hubby and I had a mini babymoon, after telling him I wanted to attend a #WhatSheSaid panel discussion happening at the +W Fort Lauderdale Hotel, he thought why not make it a night stay out of it and have one last relaxing gateway before our sweet #babyOlivia arrives, this momma-to-be couldn't have been happier with that idea. Sharing a home with family is not always easy, you don't have as much privacy as you would in your own home and privacy for a couple is highly necessary, so this was a lovely retreat from that. Before the panel we ran down to the restaurant Steak 954 inside the hotel to catch breakfast before it was over. So happy we did, because I had the best french toast I have ever had, you need to try it. The panel was empowering and I got to meet the General Manager Anna who was so lovely, the legendary Patricia Field and my friend Annie Vazquez, where we got to catch up a bit after a few years of not seeing each other. The rest of the time I enjoyed the day with hubby walking around the boardwalk and Las Olas Boulevard, we had lunch, later we sat outside a cafe eating gelato and we people-watched, the weather was perfect, sunny yet with a smooth breeze.

The next day, hubby set out for an early beach run while I stayed in bed for just a little longer. I then met him at a Starbucks down the street and had a casual breakfast. We came back to the room and got ourselves ready, hung out for a bit in the room to take in our ocean view, and then do one last walk by the beach, wearing the most comfy classic denim dress from Pink Blush, it was perfect for the weather, light and airy, the best part about this dress is that I can wear it long after I have give birth, I call that a win. I am excited to also wear my cardigan and silk robe, that they sent me, so comfy, and because I want you to be comfy too and Thanksgiving is in just two days, I wanted to find a way to say Thank you to my readers, so I along with Pink Blush will be giving away a giftcard worth $75 to one of you, all you have to do is go to my IG to find out how to enter.

Good luck and Thank you for always coming to CSxE, I am so thankful for your time.

Bébé Olivia | My French Countryside Themed Baby Shower

10 November, 2016

My Baby Shower

Oh this was one for the record books, why? well some of you may know that I moved back to Miami back in mid September all the way from Germany x seven months pregnant, so you can imagine the exhaustion and the many tasks we had on our to do list in order to close our chapter in Germany and restart again in Miami. This was one of the major to do list, we all know how time consuming preparing for any kind of event can be, so I had about two weeks to really put everything in to action. By End of the first week I had doubts of the venue my best friend Katie had secured for me, the place was cute but for some reason they had decided to put Finding Nemo stickers all over each of the walls of the hall, why, I have no clue but it took away from the look and made it no so cute. I didn't want to panic, so I just began my search for a venue once again, which had proven to be a mission, I needed something inexpensive and indoors due to the Zika craze, no easy solution as Miami is known for being overpriced on just about anything. I was starting to feel a bit annoyed, but still not frantic, which was good.

Fast forward to the following week and we were looking at a major hurricane, expected to hit us precisely two days before my baby shower, that is when I started to worry, I didn't know if to cancel or keep the date. Mid week I ended up  postponing it to the following weekend, only to have mild rain the day the hurricane was suppose to hit us, I then had to think whether to change it back to do some family members who would have missed out if I kept it for the following weekend, so changed it back to the original date, which only gave me one day to get all the food and last minute decor. How I did it, I don't know but luckily I had a lot of hands to help me the day before and the day of my baby shower for which I am forever thankful for because honestly without them, it wouldn't have been possible. I put people in charge of certain tasks, my bestie Cassandra was in charge of games and winner gifts, bestie Lily and her sister got all the wine and champagne, sister in law Annette was in charge of most of the dessert table, my mom and mother in law were in charge of creating the floral arrangements, the hubby and I did the backdrops with a little help from sis in law, I did the eucalyptus garland that hung over the photo backdrop and the rest everyone just put a landing hand to truck everything over to the venue and put it together, we did not sleep much and were under a beautiful bath of sweat the day of, but we did it, and that's what counts. Thank you a million times to all of you who helped including my bestie Katie who helped me so much from afar and my other sis in law Genesis for coming so early on the day of to do my makeup.

The baby shower came out just the way I imagined, which if you know me is so hard to achieve, because I am a pain in the ass and I want everything the way I envision it. I wanted a french countryside feel to it, with lots of wild flowers and simple but yummy food and that's exactly how it was. I felt so happy and blessed that so many of my family and friends were able to join me on such a special day, it was more than I could have asked for and it was all because I was in loving company.

Shout out to Greg and Sabrina who were so gracious and kind to let us use their communities clubhouse in such a short notice. Also, I know I'm missing some of you in my photo repertoire but I couldn't get all the photos in time, so I'm sorry if you are missing in action here but know I love you.

We can't wait to meet you baby girl, we love you so much already.
