|CSxE Two-Year Anniversary| Instagram Giveaway

14 October, 2013

This month is my second year anniversary, I still can't believe it's been two years since I embarked on a fun adventure. I hope that it only keeps getting better from here.  I wouldn't be doing this if  it wasn't for those of you who have come back time after time to read and look at what I have to say and share with you, so I thank you so very much for your support, none of these would mean anything without it. Since I am feeling grateful and very festive, being my blog's anniversary and all, I have set up a series of giveaways for this month all for you. The first giveaway, is an unconventional one and a fun one at that, I have decided to give two of you the chance to win stuff from my closet that I have never used. The two pieces I am giving away today are the Moment Wrap Skirt in Houndstooth print and Stella McCartney Mesh Pumps. I bought these two items online and they ended up not fitting me, so I kept them in my closet so that I can sell them on my shop, but now I am giving you all a chance to win them!

Details on sizing:
The Skirt - M size (length 35 cm, waist 72 cm, hips 92 cm) **fits like a Small, they run small in sizing
The Shoes - 7.5 size **they fit like a 7, but if you are between a 7 & 7.5 then they will fit.

How to enter:

1. Save image of the item you want to win.
2. Post the image on instagram, tag x follow me @chicstreetsande (if you already follow me, then you just have to post image).
3. Hashtag the image with #CSxE2yrAnniversary

One winner for each piece will be chosen at random and will be announced through my Instagram account on  October 25th, 2013. Good luck!

pain, sweat and nightmares are just what I feel like I am going through, ever since we started planning our wedding, I have been on a strict budget with little room to shop. No shopping for a blogger is plain tragic, you feel like you are falling behind, slipping through the cracks of irrelevance. So in order to keep my style sanity in check, I search the web for inspiration and what I would buy if I could at all. Here are a few of the things I have my eyes on and wishing they were hanging in my closet or on my vanity.  Who doesn't want a winking eye bag or a stunning lucite minaudiere or those sexy floral pants on the top right corner, or even those red hot tamales of sandals? all these little numbers are perfect for endless summer days and nights. I have also been dying to try the Rodin luxury face oil that I have heard rave reviews about but I am having a hard time dishing out that kind of money for a small bottle of goodness...but I am hoping I come around to buying it before summer ends.

1. Fire Eyes Small Book Shaped Clutch 2. Fiore Dress 3. Matchstick Necklace 4. Peru Pants 5. Sheer Panel Dress by Unique 6. Amargosa Necklace 7. Faiza Cuff Sandals 8. Dani Plexi Sandal 9. Jeans with Patches 10. Lucia Plexi Clutch 11. Ripped Denim Pencil Skirt 12. Rodin Luxury Face Oil

meeting Scott Schuman and Garance Doré at The Webster

what an eventful year it has been, I couldn't have imagined any of it the year before, which is why I appreciate life in the first place because you never know what is coming next. I am so grateful to everyone of you who has given me the opportunity to continue this journey, I've met so many wonderful, creative and energetic people who like to think outside the box and what to make a difference in their communities. I am also so thankful to be surrounded by people who care so much and even more for having so many talented friends, from Creative Directors, PR pioneers, teachers, spiritual leaders, artists, dancers, designers to bloggers. All of these people are the ones that create an exciting atmosphere for all of us and I consider myself lucky to be in that group, hopefully our efforts can inspire others to do the same, so that they can shake things up.

although this was the year I lost my amazing grandmother, I have so much to feel blessed about and her passing in a way is one of them because now I have her as an angel that will guide me through and protect me for the rest of my life. This was also the year that my love proposed to me and I couldn't be more happy...it's been a long time coming. Next year is going to be filled with so many exciting opportunities, changes and surprises, looking forward to it already.

in the meantime I want to thank 2012 for a fabulous year it's been to me and for all the people that it brought to my life, as well as those who I have had in my life for many years...thank you for your undying support. May 2013 be a great year for all of you.

Stella McCartney x Saks event

10 December, 2012

where do I begin, well it started by receiving a very cool invitation to meet one of the designers I have admired for so long, Stella McCartney that is. As I sat there reading the email to this special invitation I thought to myself "this is starting to feel so surreal" and by "this" I mean my business in the blogosphere. I felt the excitement reach the very intricate neurons in my brain, why because although to some of you this may seem silly but truth is no one (unless you are a serious blogger yourself) knows how hard it is to be noticed for what you do. Therefore, I am thankful for opportunities like these, as well as all of you for your support because without the two I couldn't be here.

lets move on and talk about this fabulous event hosted by the lovely people over at Saks in Boca Raton. I was invited to come and meet the designer herself and have a few minutes to speak to her in private, which was a true delight. Leading up to her arrival I started to feel a bit nervous, because I didn't want to ask something irrelevent, but when I met her she was so sweet and humble that it made me feel at ease. She was here to introduce her Summer 2013 ready-to-wear collection and was giving a beautiful soiree in return. I love her asthetics, they are clean, fresh and modern...all of which I love. Her Summer 2013 collection is unbelievable, it felt very Miami or shall I say very South Florida, there was lots of floral, citrus colors, and lucite pieces that will make this upcoming summer so worth looking forward to. By the way, the third to last photo of the orange and white dress was hands down my favorite piece, so so sexy.

a special thank you to the team over at Saks in Boca Raton for your hospitality and to Stella McCartney for allowing us to chat with her and spend an evening with her.

|Ms.| Stella McCartney at Saks

29 November, 2012

yes your eyes are reading correctly Ms. Stella McCartney will be gracing us with her lovely presence this Monday December 3rd. I know for some of you it may be a bit far but for fashion junkies it's a sacrifice that must be done, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Saks Fifth Avenue welcomes the British fashion designer to its Boca Raton flagship store this fall for a personal appearance and fundraiser to benefit Florence Fuller Child Development Centers. To mark the occasion, the luxury retailer will host a private cocktail party in honor of the designer and celebrate the much-anticipated opening of the Stella McCartney shop within Saks. Florence Fuller Child Development Centers’ goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of young children from economically challenged families in our community. Florence Fuller Child Development Centers provide quality childcare, early education, family support programs, and the only Head Start preschool in Boca Raton. We prepare children for a lifetime commitment to learning and social achievement, while empowering their families to build a brighter future. Learn more at www.ffcdc.orgor by calling 561-391-7274.

Stella McCartney is lifelong vegetarian, and does not use any leather or fur in her designs, which is one of the reasons why I love her line so much. Although I am not vegetarian I do hold a special place for people who are dedicated to the well being of animals and wildlife. She has been able to establish herself as a luxury designer without having to use the traditional materials that make a luxury designer so exquisite at their craft. Her pieces are so rich and well tailored that the use of leather or fur is never missed, in fact it makes you wish more people would get on the same boat.

Hope that you can make it because it is not only an amazing opportunity but it is also for a good cause.
