A leopard of the Concrete Jungle, is there such a thing?

Her stare is unwavered from all the bustling noise around her,  after all she is stalking on her prey. Not a single movement goes unnoticed, as she calculates her every move. The leopard pounces as others stare her down, what’s the reason for her hunt they ponder. It’s the Barney’s warehouse sale at the corner of 8^th Ave she says.

 

Yes I just made up a story of myself as a leopard, hey I have a big imagination. As crazy as it is, I hope you enjoyed it because after all don't we all relate? that's how we really are during a big sale. Anyway, today marks the last giveaway of my 1 year anniversary celebration. I wore this outfit to a dinner at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar/Wynwood Walls hosted by the Chevy Team to promote their first ever mini car The Chevy Spark and The Color Run.The car is pretty roomy compared to must mini cars you see out there, it is perfect for city dwellers like myself and come in a rainbow of colors with some of the coolest names like the Jalapeño, Salsa, Lemonade and Denim to name a few. Chevy Spark is the official ride of the Color Run, the Miami run was this past Sunday but they still have tons of races across the nation that you can sign up to, to check out dates and cities go here. A special thank you to the Chevy team for hosting a wonderful dinner and showing us their new addition.

 

I am officially in love with my Vivienne Tam blouse as the colors are so rich and sophisticated. The perfect blouse to take you from day to night which is exactly what happened on this day. The combinations are endless, pair the top with tailored shorts (which I will  try soon), dark denim, high-waisted pants, you name it. I have the tendency to wear certain items I fall in love with over and over again and I know this top will be one that will have a lot of wear.

Dining Out: Brother Jimmy's BBQ

my restaurant posts will be taking on a different approach from now on. I will no longer have the "lowdown" section at the bottom of my post and I have named my dining out adventures "Dining Out" so that you can distinguish it better. With that said here is today's restaurant feature the delicious Brother Jimmy's BBQ. If you haven't been to it yet, I say run and run fast because this place is just what we needed in Brickell. When I was invited for a complimentary dinner at Brother Jimmy's I was pretty excited because I had gone there once before and loved it, so when I had the opportunity to go again I couldn't pass it down. The place is very low key with very reasonable prices and very good BBQ food. My other half loves BBQ and he has now become a big fan of this place. Everything that we tried packed a punch. Brother Jimmy’s is not your typical Brickell restaurant it is very much suited for a gown-up college crowd (if that’s a thing) but I guess that is what I enjoy the must because it reminds me of those places you seek when you are in college. The restaurant actually comes all the way from New York, I know funny right but it’s a mini-chain that has spread around the country and now has landed in Miami to bring you cheap eats and a good time. I really hope that it becomes a permanent fixture and a local favorite because well we need variety.

What we ate:

Starter: Flaming Big Out – a plate filled with a bit of everything such as, wings, portabello mushrooms, hush puppies.

Drinks: The Charleston A.P. – it’s like lemonade spiked with vodka.

Dinner plates: Brisket and the Fried Chicken.

Sides: Macaroni & Cheese and Fried Brussel Sprouts.

One must have:

The Fried Brussel Sprouts – definitely a must try, they are much better than you think. I normally do not like to eat too much brussel sprouts but these are out of control.

I kissed the pig good-night.

I will keep it short and sweet as I am very tired...my body weary (as the good old Bernie Mac once said in the ridiculously comical Kings of Comedy). Which by the way I have seen over 15 times, and I am not lying. Moving on from my very apparent problem with aging. This little mini photo shoot took place in the stunning penthouse suit at the Shore Club in Miami Beach for the Teeology Meets Miami lunch (more on that next week). I am such a sucker for comfortable clothing that you can dress up with just a few simple steps, like either adding lux jewelry or adding one unique piece to the outfit whether it be the shoes, makeup or bag. This tee i bought at Zara will surely become one of my favorite simple pieces because I have found many ways I can style it. That's why I love the new tee concept my Jennifer Lopez and Erica Zohar.

 

By the way, please see photo number three as a failed attempt to do a sexy modeling pose. I try but I can never never look like Gisele (bummer), I kid, I kid.

i am in love with this Furor Moda top I purchased a few months back, mainly because it is so comfortable with out loosing its appeal. Sometimes you give up style for comfort but not with this top, although it is simple the black pocket gives it that punch of edginess that I love. It can be dressed down with a pair of jeans or dressed up with pants or skirts like this one. I like to call this outfit a power outfit, best used when going to a "get it done" meeting. I feel sexy but not in a vulgar way, and I feel powerful, the two best ingredients to make you feel confident. Supplement the look when using basic colors to add dimension by adding a bit of color, like I did here with my red lips and sunglasses. By the way, the bag I have on today belonged to my mother-in-law and finally surrendered to me after years of having it stored in her closet.

Fashion For A Cause {#fashion4acause}

 

I was honored to take part in a wonderful campaign spearheaded by the lovely Annie Vazquez of TheFashionPoet.com where twenty-six of Miami’s top fashion bloggers joined forces to do something very special. During the month of October we will help raise funds for breast cancer in a fashion campaign that showcases how cool it is to not only give back but raise awareness for a cause that needs to be at the top of our priority so that we can continue to celebrate more birthdays.  

 

All bloggers were photographed over a 3-day period by Getty Images photographer Alexander Tamargo at the Shelborne hotel in South Beach wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “Fashion for a Cause.” Designed by Annie herself, the tee retails for $25 and proceeds benefit The Florida Foundation for Breast Cancer. Available in sizes Small to XL, the top will be sold at boutiques all around South Florida and on Saturday, October 13 during Art Walk at the grand opening launch of Wynwood Squat (wynwoodsquat.com) where the photos of all of us twenty-six fashion bloggers will be on exhibit from 7 to 11 P.M. hello my lovely readers, this month I will be celebrating my one year anniversary and I couldn't be happier. I want to thank all of you who have stopped by my blog read it, just came for the visuals or enjoyed keeping up with different events around town. With out your interest I frankly couldn't continue. It has been an amazing year for my blog and I cannot wait to see where it takes me next, hopefully it takes me to where I want to be.
