Target x Lines

Top: Vivienne Tam (via Loehmann's)| Bag, Pants & Shoes: Zara| Lipsticks: Revlon-Romantic (045), Sephora-Rouge (R23)

I wore this outfit to a dinner at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar/Wynwood Walls hosted by the Chevy Team to promote their first ever mini car The Chevy Spark and The Color Run.The car is pretty roomy compared to must mini cars you see out there, it is perfect for city dwellers like myself and come in a rainbow of colors with some of the coolest names like the Jalapeño, Salsa, Lemonade and Denim to name a few. Chevy Spark is the official ride of the Color Run, the Miami run was this past Sunday but they still have tons of races across the nation that you can sign up to, to check out dates and cities go here. A special thank you to the Chevy team for hosting a wonderful dinner and showing us their new addition.

I am officially in love with my Vivienne Tam blouse as the colors are so rich and sophisticated. The perfect blouse to take you from day to night which is exactly what happened on this day. The combinations are endless, pair the top with tailored shorts (which I will  try soon), dark denim, high-waisted pants, you name it. I have the tendency to wear certain items I fall in love with over and over again and I know this top will be one that will have a lot of wear.

Do you have anything in your closet that you just purchased that you want to wear over and over?

Penthouse views

Top & Shoes: Zara (find here & here)| Sunnies: Karen Walker (via Gilt)| Necklace: Forever 21| Bangles: Unknown brand (via Loehmann's)| Jeans: J Brand

I will keep it short and sweet as I am very tired...my body weary (as the good old Bernie Mac once said in the ridiculously comical Kings of Comedy). Which by the way I have seen over 15 times, and I am not lying. Moving on from my very apparent problem with aging. This little mini photo shoot took place in the stunning penthouse suit at the Shore Club in Miami Beach for the Teeology Meets Miami lunch (more on that next week). I am such a sucker for comfortable clothing that you can dress up with just a few simple steps, like either adding lux jewelry or adding one unique piece to the outfit whether it be the shoes, makeup or bag. This tee i bought at Zara will surely become one of my favorite simple pieces because I have found many ways I can style it. That's why I love the new tee concept my Jennifer Lopez and Erica Zohar.

By the way, please see photo number three as a failed attempt to do a sexy modeling pose. I try but I can never never look like Gisele (bummer), I kid, I kid.

MBFWSwim/FUNKSHION Day 1: Pour La Victoire Retreat x Trina Turk BBQ

20 July, 2012

Laura Ellner from Pour La Victoire and Rebecca Alexander

yesterday Pour La Victoire along with Socialyte hosted a blogger retreat at what has seemed to be my temporary home for MBFWSwim SOHO Beach House. I had a blast meeting new bloggers and chatting with my Miami bloggers. I love how the blogger community keeps ever-expanding and we are becoming a group to be reckoned with. Anyhow, below you can find photos of Pour La Victoire's upcoming collection. Laura spilled that the brand wanted to go back to it's french roots on this collection with more feminine features, I am loving all of them but I set my eyes out on one particular one and I want to get my hands on them. After our retreat was over we headed over to the Trina Turk BBQ downstairs and I was delighted to see the set-up, I had a great time.

Thank you Laura Ellner, Pour La Victoire and the Socialyte husband and wife team!

Also, do forget to follow me on instagram and twitter for live updates of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. Follow me @chicstreetsande

Those {casual} days

oh you know those casual days that all you want to be wearing is something comfy, light and comfortable. That seems to be the theme for most of us here in South Florida where humidity and heat are not our friends. This was my outfit for my outing with my fellow blogger friend Kristin (see yesterday's post to where we went to eat here), we decided that after eating we would walk around Miracle Mile since she had never been down to this area. It wasn't as exciting as we hoped, she wanted to shop around the boutiques but most of them were closed. I did though get to go to a boutique I had been eyeing for a while and never had the chance to go to My Best Friend's Closet Boutique, they have great stuff and their price range varies so there is something for everyone. I bought a beautiful bracelet that I cannot decide whether to keep for myself or give it as a gift for Christmas (yes I start collecting gifts as early as July). It was a fun-filled day regardless of the heat and can't wait to do it again.

FBDIB 2: Summer Edition {Recap}

02 July, 2012

that's my big bun - felt like Carrie Bradshaw

last Thursday was an anticipated day because I was going to take part in the fashion show for the Fashion Bloggers Do It Better (FBDIB) - Summer Edition at Ricochet Lounge. Surprisingly I was not nervous and I began to wonder why I was so calm, but I went about my day. All Blogger models had to be at location at 6pm to begin the transformation process. It was a very humid and hot day in Miami and we were all feeling the heat, it was not pleasant but we made the best of it and did what models had to do. When I got there almost immediatly I was being tortured by the pulling of hair to create the bun you see above, my hairstylist from Cutler Salon insisted that my bun wasn't even as tight as he normally does it...umm I was very skeptical about that. I failed to get his name but he was fantastic and he had a pretty cool Australian accent. After I was done with hair I went over to makeup which was provided by Beauty For Real. Again I failed to get the name of my makeup artist but he was lovely, we shared backgrounds and I found out he was friends David Bromstad because he reminded me of him. Once I was done with makeup I headed over along with the other beautiful ladies to change into our outfits. It was madeness at that point, we were all putting on our looks and getting every piece together. Once we were all dressed up the anticipation started to build and that's when the nerves kicked in. I knew it was too good to be true...me not nervous? never I am a nervous wreck all the time.

and then show time came and it was an experience I will always remember. We all had a blast and we kicked butt, can't wait to do it again.

A special thank you to Annie Vazquez, Simonett Pereira and Eugy Alliegro for putting this fabulous event together.
