| Post-Wedding Week Series | The Groom x Groomsmen Wear

19 May, 2014

Today I resume the Post-Wedding Week coverage, this past few days have been hectic with having family over from the States, my schedule always gets a bit complicated. There are only a few posts left of this series, today's post features the gentlemen's wardrobe of that special day, most important the handsome groom (wink). They all wore light grey suits, with white crisp dress shirts, black dress shoes and rose pink bow ties. The groom's bow tie was a dusty rose, something to make him look a little different then his groomsmen. The groomsmen boutonnieres were light pink garden rose and baby breaths, while the Groom's was a white orchid and baby breaths. All groomsmen bought their suits separately, which began to look like a mission impossible but somehow they all found suits that went perfectly together.

Didn't they look so handsome? and did you see our ring boy looking just like the big boys? so adorable.

Macy's Fashion's Night Out recap

09 September, 2012

Macy's all dolled up for FNO

i had the opportunity to co-host the Impulse shopping party along with Erika Tapia Schrieber and celebrity guest Luciana Scarabello who was one of the designers from Fashion Star. The event took place on the second floor of the Macy's - Aventura Mall, on the first and third floors where the Mystyle shopping party and Flavors of Miami Spice where other local bloggers co-hosted the events as well. Erika and I got to style four fall looks each from the Impulse section of the store and had to share with the audience why we thought those looks were great for fall. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture any of the four looks because we didn't really have the chance to. Some of my looks included designers such as RACHEL Rachel Roy (which is one of my favorites), Bar III, and Vince Camuto. I also got to pick out an outfit that I would be wearing that night to represent the brands that fall under the Impulse section.

We had a great time and although I was a bit nervous once our event took place, it was a good experience and will be excited for the next time. For those who made it out thank you and hope to see you at next year's FNO.

My turban farewell to Summer

15 August, 2012

 Turban: Gold Saturn (find it here)// Dress: Agua (via Bloomingdale's)// Sunnies: Vintage Ray-Ban Necklace: StyleTryst// Ring: Bar III// Bracelet: Juicy Couture// Shoes: Chinese Laundry

Missed you will be relentless summer.
For thy breaths bring us color and thy rays bring us light,
Where skin meets thy sun and thy warmth makes us feel alive;
Persons come together to bask in thy delight,
For summers are for gathering around those that bring us sighs;
Young love devotes their triumph to thy weary days of summer,
Where they rush across the sunflowers to find a moment to gaze into each other’s eyes.
Missed you will be relentless summer for thee will not be here- tomorrow.
by Ana Ortuño
(dedicated to the wonderful Jeffrey, who is somewhere in the heavens reading my post and smiling. You see, he was a lover of poetry and a connoisseur of life)
yes, that was written by yours truly. I felt romantic all of a sudden, and yes for those who may not know I am indeed a helplessly hopelessly romantic. I've always loved writing, it is very therapeutic for me and its been years since I last wrote a poem so I am so proud of this little one right here. Moving on, I will miss the days where you can dress with a flowing maxi dress and a cool turban to catch your hair; But I certainly love fall dressing, because the color palettes are my absolute favorite. As summer is slowing closing the door on us, I am starting to think...what really is fall dressing for us here in Miami? you'll have to wait and see.

What I Wore Day 1

25 July, 2012

 Dress: BCGB (old)// Necklace as a bracelet: Fossil// Ring: Bar III (double-finger silver ring)// Wrislet: C. Madeleines// Shoes: Zara

what I wore the day one of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim and Funkshion Week. I had a couple of events as seen here and I wanted to have a day to night look because I would spend the whole day at the SOHO Beach House. One of my favorite dresses I have, I love white and what I adore more is a white dress. Whether it be a simple beach cover up dress, a maxi, or a cocktail one, white always looks good on any woman.

That pouch you see on my midriff is just the style of the dress, thank you.

At Dusk

03 July, 2012

Top: Blush Boutique-Brickell// Necklace & Shoes: Zara (find necklace here)// Necklace used as Bracelet: Fossil// Rings: Bar III two finger ring (silver), Vintage cocktail ring (gold)// Skirt: BCBG

I wore this little number to my 10 year high school reunion which took place at Club 50 in the Viceroy Hotel. Maybe not the best "club" outfit at least for Miami standards but I loved it and I was very happy to be wearing that beautiful BCBG pleated skirt. Now on to a similar subject, that colorblock top has probably been one of my best purchases. It has been more versatile than I ever thought and it has classic colors. Note to oneself, purchase things that can be worn mutiple times without looking like the same piece of clothing...in other words purchase a chameleon, get it? haha only I get my jokes. I had a great time, although I missed a couple of people either they were there too early or I got there too late. I still managed to have a great time and I saw some people I had not seen in a while, including a dear Track teammate who I hold dearly to my heart, Kinsland. My how times fly and I don't even want to think of our 20 year reunion, yikes.

Special thanks to my dear sister-in-law who did my makeup with MAC cosmetics. (Not pictured with makeup, this was shot on a different date).
Hope everyone had a great weekend, looking forward to our Independence Day where the great Red, White and Blue will be at it's glory.
