|A Tail| of a modern day Gatsby

22 May, 2013

I had this little project brewing in my head for a few months and actually was the original theme Karla and I's collaboration (see what we did here) but ended up not working out at the time but I still wanted to do it. My plan was to have it out before the remake of one of my ultimate favorite books-turned-movies The Great Gatsby, I was obsessed since the day I read the book back in grade school. Not only was the story so divine but it depicted a romance during my ultimate favorite era, the 1920s. I live and breath for that time in history, mostly because well the way women and men would dress was decadent and extravagant. When I saw that The Great Gatsby was going to be remade, I instantly thought of this post and viola- here it is. I had a different location I wanted to shoot in but time and energy where not on my side, so I decided to make the best of it and shoot around my neighborhood.

I am getting back in the groove of posting outfits, I know it's been lacking but I got you people, you will be getting a few more before I cross the pond over to Germany.

nature is what I seek when I want to get away, when I just want to feel one with the world. Do you ever have moments where you just want to melt into everything? to go unnoticed? I feel like that from time to time and I take it as a form of spiritual cleansing, getting rid of all emotional baggage or negative energies. Luckily in Miami I can always find nature in every corner, whether I want the sounds of the ocean or the rustling of trees it's all in my hands and I feel very lucky to have it.

What I Wore Day 2

26 July, 2012

Top: Express (old)// Necklaces: Vintage (etsy)// Bag: BCBG// Skirt: Zara// Shoes: Boutique 9

my second day was a very long one as well, it started by going to the Blogger's Night Out (it was mostly during the day) in The Betsy Hotel, then having lunch/dinner with Annie and Casey at BLT downstairs (so nice to have had some downtime with these ladies, we bonded!), then headed over to The Raleigh for the shows. It felt like a never-ending Bikram Yoga class through Miami Swim Week, most of us were sweating our behinds off and it wasn't pretty. This right here is what I wore my second day, I fell in love with this crochet skirt I picked up at the Zara semi-annual sale...which is still going on by the way so check it out here.

Karen Walker sunnies// Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick// Forever 21 blouse// Asos necklace// Forever 21 bangle// Rings: my parent's rose gold wedding bands (divorced, I inherited their bands), Shop Trashy double-finger cross // Urban Expressions bag (gifted)// Joe's Jeans// Boutique 9 shoes

what I wore for my birthday brunch at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. If you have been following my blog since the beginning you will remember I wore this same blouse to meet The Man Repeller (here). I instantly loved the blouse when I saw it at Forever 21, I can tell the type of person someone is when I get a compliment on it, because it's not for everyone...just for cool people, kidding. I will be having a whole lot of fun this week, hope you are enjoying your week and let's keep our eyes on the prize...we are talking about Friday right?

Happy Tuesday!
